A) Apakah di antara kerang-kerangan hidup binatang lain?
Jika kerang-kerangan mati, kerangka batunya tidak membusuk. Kerangka itu menjadi sebuah dinding yang besar. Dinding itu merupakan tanggul di bawah air yang bisa memecahkan gelombang. Itulah yang disebut dengan gosong karang. Binatang air yang tidak terhitung jumlahnya mendapat perlindungan di tempat itu. Di sana, mereka bisa menghindari musuh, seperti hiu dan kepiting panser. Gosong karang merupakan sebuah pulau bawah air yang berwarna-warni dan banyak penghuninya. Oleh karena itu, banyak penyelam yang tertarik untuk melihatnya. Ikan kupu-kupu dan jenis ikan lain bereang hilir mudik di antara kerang-kerangan dan bunga laut. Ikan jenis lain, seperti ikan nuri mengerat kerang-kerangan dengan giginya berbentuk seperti paruh dan sangat kuat.

Oleh karena itu, ganggang sangat lunak, licin dan elastic seperti karet. Ganggang berguna bagi kebanyakan binatang laut. Keong laut sangat suka mengeratnya sedangkan ikan biasanya mengoyak lalu memakannya.
