Kultur Area Jawa di Jawa Timur tentang Upacara Pindahan Rumah (Boyongan)

Daerah Tingkat II, Kotamadya Madiun
Masyarakat tradisional Jawa masih mempercayai kehadiran hari baik dan hari kurang baik, bahkan amat buruk bila digunakan untuk pindah tempat tinggal atau boyongan omah. Pindahan tempat tinggal berbeda dengan pindahan tempat tinggal untuk sementara atau “tetirah, tirah”.
Keluarga akan pindah rumah disarankan memilih hari baik oleh karena itu harus mengenal “petungan Jawa” atau perhitungan nilai hari dan “pasaran”. Nilai hari dan pasaran secara konvensional di tetapkan sebagai berikut;

Pindahan tempat tinggal (boyongan ngalih omah) disarankan untuk melihat neptu hari dan pasaran, misalnya hari Selasa (3) dan Wage (4); hari selasa Wage neptunya 3+4=7, pada hari tersebut diharapkan tidak berpindah rumah ke arah barat.
Ketentuan umum “boyongan ngalih omah” ditetapkan sebagai berikut:

Masyarakat modern cenderung mengabaikan tradisi di atas. Upacara adat boyongan ini diambil di daerah Taman (Madiun).
Kronologis Upacara
Pada awal upacara pewara memberitahukan makna boyonan secara tradisional di daerah Madiun.
Penunggu rumah (seorang pria dan wanita) merupakan lambang Kyai Danyang dan Nyai Danyang, yang menjaga rumah yang akan ditempati oleh penghuni baru.
Penunggu rumah inilah yang menyambut kedatangan penghuni baru diiringi kdingan dan ulasan makna dan hakekat pindah rumah (boyongan pindhah panggonan) oleh pewara.
Keluarga yang berpindah rumah, digambarkan sebagai pujangga yang diiringi oleh anggota keluarga dan kerabatnya.
Perlengkapan boyongan
a) Pujangga (calon penghuni baru) membawa lampu teplok.
b) Pujangga diikuti oleh dua orang anak dan dua orang tuanya.
c) bapak pujangga memikul tikar dan bantal sambil membawa sapu, sedang Ibu menggendong tempat beras (daringan) sambil membawa kendi.
d) Para kerabat pujangga, masing-masing membawa perlengkapan sesaji atau kenduri.
Adegan pertemuan pujangga dan dayang diiringi gamelan Jawa, gending Ketawang.

Sapu ingkang badhe kula angge ngresiki rereget ingkang wonten ngelebet utawi sak jawinipun griya. Klasa lan bantal punika kula beta minangka pirantos anggen kula nyipeng wonten mriki supados saget tentrem sak kulawarga kula sedaya. Ugi punika Semah kula sampun mbeta pangan sak cekapipun, ingkang kangge nyekapi kabetahan kula sak kaluwarga.
